Dekota Baptiste allegedly killed Terrance R. “Lex” Ferguson because of a dispute over Baptiste's girlfriend at the time, Theresa Duarte. Police say the 24-year-old Easton man followed Ferguson into the parking lot of the Auto Zone store on 25th Street on Feb. 23. Police say Duarte and an unidentified man were crouched down in the back seat of Ferguson's car.

School district offers free lunches to Easton kids

The district will offer free lunches to any child up to 18 starting June 26. The program runs 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Easton Area Community Center and Cheston Elementary School. It ends Aug. 17. This will be the third year for the program.

The Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan Museum of Art has appointed Daniel H. Weiss President and Chief Executive Officer of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. At a special meeting of its Board, the Trustees voted unanimously that Mr. Weiss will assume the title President and Chief Executive Officer, and also announced that the Museum will lead a search to appoint a Director of the Museum, who will report to Mr. Weiss.

Woman allegedly behind wheel in fatal crash is briefly jailed

The 18-year-old Easton woman who city police say was driving the car that crashed into two other vehicles and fatally injured a Bethlehem woman on Lehigh Drive was briefly behind bars last week. While Mazell Truss, of the 1000 block of Lehigh Street, hasn't been charged in the June 2 crash that took the life of 64-year-old Elizabeth Audrey Rafferty, she was wanted on a bench warrant involving a May 8 retail theft, according to court records.
